:)speann A warm welcome to our latest member, Broadswords comes from the highlands. Mmm, well normally i would tell you what bike he rides, sadly because of the problems yesterday and certain items were rest and updated, it now asks you what is your favorite book which i am sure would cause some confusion. I will go and change that now. In the meantime welcome aboard, maybe you can introduce yourself and tell us what steed you have.

Welcome. Broadsword hails from Spean Bridge and i believe runs a new 1800. Been planning a run down there to see my brother but the weather hasn't been great this week.

Hello All and thank you for the welcome.

I am relatively new to the Goldwing. It was an ambition of my late wife and I to own such a machine at some point, sadly she didn't make it through to see it.

So, with her in mind, I had a choice, clear the mortgage or get a 'Wing. The Mortgage won and I have a 2013 (Registered Feb 2014), Honda Goldwing 1800 in Blue, :)fbw. To which I have spent most of the summer when I can (I run a small B&B in the Highlands), to get out and about and get used to the machine. Having clocked up just short of 5000 miles, it is definitely a 'Dream Machine'. Elizabeth (my Wife) would have loved it, I know I do. Furthest south I have been is Keighley and all around the West Highlands near to were we live.

A small plug, if I may. We are Bike Friendly with secure parking, so if any of you are passing or looking for a night or two, just call. The kettle is nearly always on!

Thanks you for the Welcome and hope to see and meet many of you.

Neil

Feel free to put up more details of your B&B, I am sure members will be interested. How many can you accommodate at a time?

Hi Neil and thanks for taking the time to introduce yourself. I am hoping that Elizabeth will be cheering you on with your shared vision. It would really be good to come up and stop at the B&B, thats not it in the picture :)

Hi Neil

Shame we did not know you before. Just over a month ago we had 3 trikes and 3 motorhomes touring Scotland. The scenery was fantastic and we stopped at the castle and travelled around Skye as well.

Thank you al for the kinds words and welcome, it is very much appreciated.

As much as we would like Eilean Donan Castle to be our little B&B, unfortunately, MI6 got there first!

As we have had a few requests on this post alone, here are the details, I am sure Admin will point me in the right direction to post a 'proper' advert, but, in the meantime.

We can be found at www.achnabobane.co.uk

We have our own booking engine as well as a link through to Booking.com and occasionally, Laterooms.com. It is better for all if you were to book direct. We have 8 beds divided into 4/5 standard rooms. 1 x double, 1 x twin, 1 x single and 1 x Triple. In the 'closed' season, the triple can be split into a single and a double. We are Bike friendly, as you would expect. We have seen more bikes this year than ever before, sadly, no 'Wings. The car park is big enough for 4 cars, so you can see it is plenty big enough for Bikes and has CCTV coverage. There is a caravan park not too far away that caters for RV's. We are easily found, 800 yards off the main A82, 6 miles North of Fort William and 2 miles South of Spean Bridge. There are 3 big brown tourism signs indicating where we are, along the A82.

For those of you venturing this far North at any time, you can check the online diary for availability and then telephone to query or book. If booked directly, then I am happy to give a 10% discount per 'Wing, if booked via Booking.com or any other web based Booking/Travel agent, then I cannot offer discounts.

I have added a couple or 3 photos of the House and views of the Nevis Range.

Looking forward to seeing some of you in the future and hope I haven't 'upset' Admin for this post.

Regards

Neil

I feel a Northern Meet & Greet coming on next year!!! :)mac :)mac :)thumbs

Nice write up "Danny calling Broadsward" :)biggrin

Just a tip, when you add pictures to a post you need to click the "Insert" button after each one, that way they show up as full sized pictures. ( pain in the butt I know, but a quirk of the system here) I edited yours to show up full sized and very nice they look too. :)clap

Neil,
Just had a look on the website - looks good.
It would seem that I may have to pass the Dalwhinnie distillery to get there, not entirely sure how to pass that place without calling in as it is a favourite of mine. Also have been intending to visit the Commando Memorial for some time, so it is looking quite difficult to avoid visiting you at some point.
Perhaps as Foxy says, the entire forum should just invade you for a weekend at some point.

We are open pretty much all year, with the occasional trips south to see family etc. usually in November.

Just call. Kettles nearly always on.

Age restrictions for kids has been arrived at by brutal experience. Dogs are not a problem at ali.

I am planning a trip to Dresden, Germany in early March. I know what the requirements are for a car, but anything I should be aware of for a bike? I understand it is illegal to have a camera (go-pro) on the bike or helmet.
