Neil,
Just had a look on the website - looks good.
It would seem that I may have to pass the Dalwhinnie distillery to get there, not entirely sure how to pass that place without calling in as it is a favourite of mine. Also have been intending to visit the Commando Memorial for some time, so it is looking quite difficult to avoid visiting you at some point.
Perhaps as Foxy says, the entire forum should just invade you for a weekend at some point.

We are open pretty much all year, with the occasional trips south to see family etc. usually in November.

Just call. Kettles nearly always on.

Age restrictions for kids has been arrived at by brutal experience. Dogs are not a problem at ali.

I am planning a trip to Dresden, Germany in early March. I know what the requirements are for a car, but anything I should be aware of for a bike? I understand it is illegal to have a camera (go-pro) on the bike or helmet.

Travelling up on the East side, along the A9, you CANNOT avoid the distillery. Sad that, innit?:woohoo:
Then cross to Roy Bridge and onto Spean then right to Fort Bill and us.

The laws and requirements travelling abroad seem to change all the time, ie hi vis vests, spare specs, gps camera alerts etc, anybody got a good up to date site for this info.

i know germany has recently changed some of the rules, ie bike with trailer on autobahns was set to max speed of 40mph, not bad for a place where 140mph cars are on, somebody thought this might be a good idea to increase the speed limit.

Cheers Guys. I presume Bikes do not have to carry Triangle and first aid kit!!

Otherwise, ride within limits and be careful. :)thumbs

Hi Viz is one of the only things you will need, oh, and a bulb kit, although first aid kit is advisable. They do have the Good Samaritan law which obliges you to stop at the scene of an accident and try to assist.

Thank you for that and the link. I wasn't quite expecting that, glad I asked.

So, spare bulbs and fuses it is and a first aid pack.

A BBQ is a necessity here. :)Doh

In Melbourne Australia, a bloke was seen riding his motorbike along the Eastern Freeway with a barbeque strapped to his body.

The thrifty man had found the BBQ on a nature strip (footpath) and decided he was going to take it home to fire it up. Unfortunately, a motorist snapped him doing this, and the photo found its way to the media. The police were able to track him down and fined him $800 for careless riding.

The magistrate really gave him a grilling (sorry) and said “I can’t recall seeing anything like it in all my years on the bench.”
