I think this may possibly be the Peter that I recommended to to the site and if so he has an '85 1200Ltd and matching trailer that he may want to sell.

Thank you every one for your warm welcome .I would love to keep this goldwing its a 1984 ltd with a couple of miner bits to do like no sound out off speakers from the cb/r/c/ or the cd player.
But as my knees and hip are knackered I can't hold her up lol. and I don't have a full bike licence.
Thinking sidecar or sell . :)sidec :)sidec

Are you sure you have switched from the headphones to speakers?

You're only two years older than me Peter, so you can't use that as an excuse I am afraid. :)biggrin

Can anyone tell Peter the definitive legal position with someone riding a sidecar outfit as regards licence? Does it have to be a full motorcycle licence, or can one ride an outfit on a car licence?

All the info i have seen says no. The law treats it as a motorcycle with and extention as such whereas trikes are a different category. It is dificult to get a definitive answer but look here.

That seems very clear Derek, it has to be a full motorcycle licence or the bike has to be restricted and then on CBT with L plates displayed and no passengers. Car licence is not applicable. :-(

The cost of being in that trade mate, I am a chippy too and my knees have suffered over the years. Had one op and will probably need more before too long. :-(

If you sell her, you may be pleasantly surprised and come across a nice trike for not too much more money. Think positive. :)crossed

It is a shame, but as pete says, there are some good trikes out there at a budget cost. Get yours sold and have a look round.
